Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Cloud Architect to join our leadership team in Destin, FL. In this strategic role, you will design, implement, and govern our enterprise cloud infrastructure. You will ensure our staffing CRM/ATS integration platform remains resilient, highly scalable, cost-efficient, and secure, supporting millions of high-throughput data syncs across multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Strategy & Architecture: Lead the architectural design, roadmap, and evolution of multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure maximum performance, uptime, and elasticity.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Standardize and oversee environment provisioning using enterprise IaC methodologies (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation).
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Architect robust cross-region fault tolerance, backup systems, and disaster recovery strategies to satisfy strict SLAs.
- Security & Compliance Architecture: Partner with SecOps to embed Zero-Trust security controls, identity management (IAM), data encryption, and compliance controls (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) into the cloud foundation.
- FinOps & Cost Optimization: Establish FinOps frameworks to monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud infrastructure expenditure and resource allocation.
- Technical Leadership & Governance: Establish architectural guidelines, evaluate emerging cloud technologies, and guide DevOps, SRE, and software development teams on best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 3+ years specifically in an enterprise Cloud Architect role.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in cloud enterprise platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with deep knowledge of compute, networking, serverless, and storage services.
- Mastery of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management.
- Advanced understanding of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes / EKS / AKS) and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in cloud networking architecture (VPCs, Transit Gateways, VPNs, DirectConnect, load balancing, DNS).
- Demonstrated mastery of cloud security frameworks, IAM policies, and secret management tools (Vault).
- Strong knowledge of database infrastructure scaling (PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, Snowflake).
Soft Skills
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills to bridge technical strategy with business outcomes.
- Strategic thinker capable of designing systems built for multi-year growth and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership skills to mentor senior engineering staff and steer cross-departmental projects.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Professional Cloud Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience architecting high-volume integration platforms, API gateways, or event-driven real-time data pipelines.
