Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and driven Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Destin, FL. In this role, you will focus on building high-performance server-side logic, architecting robust APIs, and scaling database infrastructures. You will play a vital role in connecting third-party platforms, staffing ATS systems, and CRM tools through robust, reliable integration pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- API Design & Integration: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs for internal services and client integrations.
- Database Optimization: Structure relational and NoSQL databases, write complex, performant queries, and implement effective caching strategies.
- Server Architecture & Microservices: Develop server-side business logic using modern frameworks and participate in microservices orchestration.
- Data Pipeline Management: Construct resilient webhooks, event-driven processes, and background worker queues to handle asynchronous data processing at scale.
- Security & Authentication: Implement secure authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT) and enforce encryption and data protection standards.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and load tests to ensure system stability, fault tolerance, and minimal downtime.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in server-side languages such as Node.js (TypeScript), Python, C# (.NET), Go, or Java.
- Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Redis).
- Proven experience building, securing, and documenting public- and private-facing web APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and serverless execution models.
- Experience with message brokers and event buses (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or AWS SQS/SNS).
- Proficiency with Git, Docker containers, and modern automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving mindset with high attention to code performance and efficiency.
- Clear communication skills to collaborate effectively with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams.
- Self-starter attitude with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience building integrations with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or CRM platforms (e.g., Bullhorn, Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure management.
- Understanding of high-availability distributed systems architecture.
